Beeswax

Beeswax Beeswax is naturally aromatic, infused with the sweet scent of honey and has its own natural colour. The colour of the wax varies depending on the seasons. This adds an individual character to each batch of candles. Beeswax candles burn brighter and longer than most other alternatives, burning extremely cleanly, virtually smoke and drip–free while emitting soft, intimate light and delicious, subtle honey-like aroma. All of these candles are solid beeswax poured into patterned silicone moulds.  Burn times are approximate and subject to burning conditions. Read more...

Scented Rapeseed

Scented Rapeseed All our scented candles are made using Rapeseed Wax (a European grown, natural vegetable wax) and pure essential oils. This means that they are all natural and have much less ecological impact (by way of less transport miles) than other natural waxes :) The wax is a creamy white colour in its natural state and burns for longer than paraffin wax. As with other natural waxes, it burns with a clean flame in the right conditions. All scents are available as 100g lidded tins (ideal for taking travelling) or 70g glass votives. Other options may be available. Please ask if you have anything specifi... Read more...

twylight candlesAll the candles available here are hand-poured and scented by me. My husband loves the smell as he walks through the door when I have taken over the kitchen as a workshop! He doesn't really love the chaos left behind when I have glasses and tins and other paraphernalia all over the place. I think he has forgiven me however, since he creates the artwork for my labels!

Our candles are made using either beeswax or rapeseed wax. Why these? They are both natural waxes and thus burn cleaner than those made with paraffin wax. They are also both produced locally either in the UK (beeswax) or within the European Union (rapeseed wax) and, from my point of view, do not have the same ecological cost as soy or palm wax, both of which are imported. Having said that, I would love at some point to make some candles using palm wax as they create such wonderful textures! The candles burn with a clean flame and because the waxes are harder than paraffin wax, they burn for longer. winebottle

Beeswax is melted and then poured just as it is, no scent or colour added, and has a wonderful colour that can vary depending on where the bees are kept and a natural honey scent that just seems to fill a room with calm.

Rapeseed wax is a wonderful warm, tactile wax made using the oil pressed from oilseed rape. This wax is scented using blends of pure essential oils before being poured into containers for later burning.
